Two women have threatened to sue the company behind a Slingshot ride on the Gold Coast after claiming that workers forced them to endure the ride a second time despite their objections.
Brooke and Chloe summoned the courage to ride the Slingshot last week, but what was supposed to be a fun day out turned into their worst nightmare.
The pair shared footage of their ordeal on social media with the caption: ‘Imagine the workers forgetting to turn the camera on and sending you up a second time.’
The video captured the women in a state of panic as the workers said, ‘send them again’.
Brooke and Chloe were heard saying ‘no, no no’ to the workers, with Brooke explaining she felt sick and was ‘going to throw up’.
‘Are you serious? What the f**k,’ Brooke said. ‘I’m suing you guys. What the f**k, why are we going again?’
However, despite their protests the ride starts to move and flings the pair into the air at 160km/h.
Chloe screams while holding onto Brooke, who is visibly distressed and crying while yelling ‘that was so f***ing dog’.
Brooke believes they were sent on the second ride after their first ride was not captured on video due to human error.
It is common practice for video footage to be taken of participants on the Slingshot ride so they have a souvenir of their experience to take home.
Slingshot Gold Coast strongly disputed claims they were forced without their consent.
‘The guests were asked if they would like to ride again to successfully record their experience. They consented to this second ride. The second ride was conducted with their agreement,’ the spokesperson said.
‘We encourage our guests to relax, take nice even breaths, and try to enjoy the experience. Our rides are designed with safety as the top priority, and our staff is trained to ensure guest comfort.’
